Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Ensemble
For years, musicians of the Concertgebouworkest have been giving chamber music concerts in the Recital Hall as part of their Close-up Series. This Close-up concert is part of the Horizon week focusing on Dutch music, Play Dutch with me. Stijn Berkouwer has been invited to conduct an ensemble of players from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra during a performance of the 1952 Septet by Kees van Baaren. This concert can be viewed here.

Krashna Musika
Beginning in March 2019 Stijn Berkouwer will be the new chief-conductor of the orchestra of Krashna Musika. The student orchestra of the city of Delft. Their first concerts will include the Brahms/Schoenberg Piano Quartet and will be held June 21 and 22.

Starting in February 2019, Stijn Berkouwer has been invited as Music Director for the Amsterdam based Symfonieorkest De Philharmonie. Upcoming concerts include Prokofiev's 6th Symphony in April, and in November they will perform Mahler's 2nd Symphony in the Royal Concertgebouw. website

In the 2018/2019 season Stijn Berkouwer has been invited by the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra for school concerts and by the Orkest van het Oosten to conduct the annual Outdoor Park Concerts in Enschede in 2019.

Bach 333
On the occasion of Bach's 333rd birthday an orchestra of 333 players will be formed together with the Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest. As a tribute to Bach this concert will be televised live on Podium Witteman (Dutch National Television).

In October-December of 2017 Stijn Berkouwer will assist Pieter-Jelle de Boer at Opera Zuid during a Production of Werther by Massenet. He will conduct the performance on December 7th in Tilburg.

Anton Kersjes Conducting Scholarship
On December 3rd of 2016 Stijn Berkouwer was awarded the Anton Kersjes Conducting Scholarship in the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. This prestigious scholarship for young conductors is awarded by The Kersjes Fund and is aimed at helping the development of a young conductor.

Stijn Berkouwer was an active participant at the Bernard Haitink master class during the Lucerne festival in March of 2016. On the program was music by Brahms, Ravel, Britten, Mozart and Beethoven.
